Peninsula Trails Coalition Donations
and Membership Information

THANKS TO YOUR DONATIONS WE MET OUR $35,000 GOAL!!!

NEW convenient way to donate securely online using PayPal! Press the button to the right and join with the Peninsula Trails Coalition Board members and Jefferson County trail leaders in our first big fundraiser. We pledged $7500, and by the end of March 2012, your contributions met ours such that the fund matched them for a total of $15,000, seed money to begin this important fund drive.

Why we are doing this now: The overall vision of the Peninsula Trails Coalition is to support creation and maintenance of the Olympic Discovery Trail in its entirety: 126 miles from Port Townsend to La Push. Political, environmental and topographical realities have come to a critical mass at the SW head of Discovery Bay, where the trail needs to fit in the narrowest strip of land between Hwy 101 and the Bay.

Right now is the time to do trail design and engineering so it can be included in salmon restoration efforts planned for this area. Thanks to our contributors, we will not miss the opportunity to be part of the planning team and will work to keep the trail on the north side of Hwy 101 and avoid the ODT having to cross the highway twice.

Thank you for helping us meet this time-critical need. Because of your enthusiastic support we were able to raise the needed $35,000 by the end of March. All donations received via the website by March 31 will be used towards design of the trail at the SW head of Discovery Bay. Any monies received in excess will be used towards trail work around the rest of Discovery Bay.

As you see below, donations and memberships are always needed and appreciated. If you wish to write a check for Discovery Bay, or contribute to another aspect of the ODT, please mail it with a note as described below.

Donations in Support of the Trail:

We need your financial support through memberships and donations. The Peninsula Trails Coalition pays 100% of our work crew liability insurance, publications, festivals' display expense, and web page upkeep costs, but our biggest expense is feeding the all-volunteer crews. Donations go toward the development and maintenance of the Olympic Discovery Trail. They help pay for relief stations that are costly to install and maintain, but are a very important feature of any trail system. Funds also cover the cost of trail projects, general maintenance, doggie poop bags , signs, and other small but important items.

How to Join:

Simply download the PDF file (link at upper right of this page), print, fill out, and mail with a check, made out to the PTC, to the address provided.

How to Donate:

Donations may be sent to the PTC, PO Box 1836, Port Angeles, WA 98362. Please include a note if you would like to see your donation directed to a specific purpose such as volunteer food, relief stations, or trail development in Jefferson County.
